Quentin: Use a heavier bullet and you should get improved accuracy. The 223 is the lightest (and therefore shortest) of the PowerBelts. Shorter bullets are less stable. Try the PowerBelt AeroLite in 250 grains. Also, unless you are shooting extremely long ranges, 100 grains of propellant should be plenty and accuracy usually decreases with magnum charges. Good luck, Dudley

I am shooting a CVA Firebolt ultmag. I am shooting Powerbelt 223 gr Platinum Bullets with 120 gr Pyrodex RS. I am getting 3in groups at 100 yds off a rest. I was using 150 gr of RS, but the groups were not that great.
I killed deer this year and the bullets all past thrugh the deer. They did a very good job of killing them.
Do you have any suggestion as to the loads I am using?

i shoot and 50 cal. knight for deer hunting in the state of Iowa. just put a nikon muzzle load scope on my gun and sighted it in .I use the 295 grain arrow tip with 100g pellets and i found the accuracy of this scope and bullet to be amazing. Even at 200yards it was increadble and i wont shoot anything else. thankyou
